The Yard of Tales is a story club for those who are interested in the spoken word, the magic of storytelling, Radio Four and a night out with a difference!

It is held on the first Thursday of the month (call to check) and is held at the Cafe/bar in Joules Yard.

My aim is to provide a performance space for up and coming tellers, pay them a decent fee and provide an audience with an evening they will thoroughly enjoy whilst they are there and perhaps even get them thinking about over the following days.

Joules Yard is a unique setting. It is a courtyard of tables and chairs set out in
cafe style. There is a bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and teas and coffee. We hope to provide nibbles and snacks too. There is a restaurant next door so listeners can bring out their meal with them. Audience members can then sit and relax and be transported to the lands and kingdoms created by the storytellers.

I hope to provide a performance by a professional story teller on each night but also give budding tellers a chance to perform too with a short story of no more than 10 minutes. Find me on the night and let me know if you would like to tell.

So come along and join us…. listen, laugh, jeer and maybe even shed a tear. But mostly, have a great night.
